I have a potential buyer at this time in the neighborhood of $10,000
I was hoping to get insight on how fair/ appropriate that price is regarding the condition of this car.

Story goes: I got this from an older gentleman in my area who wrecked it, drove it back home, parked it and went out to buy a new LX570.

No reports to insurance so this car has a clean title.

My idea was to chop it up and Ute it, fix the AHC, swap passenger doors, steel bumpers, and drive it
(Or SAS it cause I like doing that) but after finishing my most recent project I need the cash for my son coming in April of 2025 and I can’t start another project for a while.

I didn’t get a body damage estimate but I found a couple doors on eBay and was going to slowly put it back together. I’m estimating the body damage would cost a shop $10-$15k to fix
But the drivetrain with only 84k miles is worth a good bit.

Am I in the right price range to sell it for $10k?

We haven’t shaken hands yet but my buyer has first dibs at this time. If that falls through, I’ll post more. Let me know what you guys think.

Damage:

front bumper
Pass fender
Pass rocker
Both pass doors
Pass rear quarter
Rear bumper
AHC doesn’t work but no leaking globes
Drivers CV boots are blown
Interior needs detailing

It runs and drives. I drove it home 40 miles. It does pull a little
Frame is square front and rear
No leaking fluids
Not a lot of maintenance history
VIN: JTJHY00W384012161

I'm not a body guy, but I know my way around that sort of stuff and I'd guess this is well above $10k of damage. There's always hidden damage beneath what you can see from the outside.

That being said, I think 10k is a very fair price, possibly even cheap. If you were local to me I'd be very tempted to buy it from you.

Take the $10K and run. Just my opinion.

Everyone on this forum has no sense of adventure. $10K could be a fair price, however the value of an ute 570 is literally priceless; there is nothing cooler, at any price. Except for maybe a 6x6 extend LX ute. Or a modern LX troopy with a diesel and a 6x6.

No sense of adventure?! Blasphemy.

I’m talking with my friend who has a first gen 4runner body, we’re going over what it might take to body swap that body onto the 570 frame… if this first deal doesn’t work out.

If you buy it, please create a build thread. $10k might be a great deal, or you may look back with confirmation bias regret. Who knows, but one way to “adventure!”

I’m currently selling it but if I keep it i would definitely document a build out of it. Even just the engine in something else would be fun.

Okay, here is my two cents, I run a body shop, been in the business over 15 years. (Car Business my whole life) This truck is toast. Sure you could cobble it together, but at this point this truck is a parts truck at most. There is well over 10k in damages on this truck 2 doors, possible B pillar Damage, Needs a quarter, blend both ways, new bumper, headlight. It's not worth the time unfortunately. Lower quarter extension is probably smashed in, causing the buckle in the quarter by the glass, and the fitment issues with the tailgate. She's toast. :|

Good option for a fun Offroad project then. Wish it was easier to swap this 5.7 into something else.
