70,000 kms 2008 landcruiser 76 V8 diesel VDJ76

I opened up my oil cap while the engine was running and i could see heaps of steam coming out of the oil cap.

Engine runs fine and coolant levels fine. I was hoping it is the PCV pipe(blocked) and NOT head gasket!!!

please help!/

thanks

Sorry about the Image, there is actually steam coming out. check at the tread of the cap hole.

The "steam" doesnt have a smell and this is after a 1 hour drive. the oil cap still blows steam.

Oil vapors do look like steam.. If there is no sludge under the cap... All is good....

couldnt sleep last night and now at work dreading for the worst!

i HOPE it is oil vapor!!

there is a little bit of pressure (suction) when i put my hand over the oil filler.
but there is no sludge, no milky oil(all black) and the coolant is clear.

just dropped by my mechanic today. he owns a 76 series too. he says its normal. and says vapor increases as the engine heats up. got a few friends who owns 76series also, they say they can see the vapour also.

must be the VDJ76 engine

ship it to me, I'll suffer through this ordeal and you'll sleep well at night.....
