We have had our 2006 Sequoia SR5 4x4 with the rear air-ride leveling suspension for 4.5 years. Has 150k miles on it. Recently, after parking for a while, the air suspension will lower all the way when you start it back up and drive. It basically bounces like it is riding on the bump stops.

I can manually raise the rear with the controls in the cab, and then it will level out and ride just fine. I have lifted it to the high position when parked and left it there, and it doesn't appear to be leaking air and the compressor seems to work fine.

I am suspicious of a sensor problem. I have considered taking out the air lift bags and converting to rear springs, but am not sure if this is an easy swap or would require some fabrication. I called Slee and they didn't know- said they just don't work on many of them.

Ideas? Would a computer diagnostic analysis detect a problem?

Update (now that I bought another 06 Sequoia and am selling this one):
I replaced the front and rear shocks with OEM Toyota. The DS rear shock was definitely toast.
I verified the rear air bags are not leaking air- If I raise the rear suspension to high and leave it overnight, it does not leak (the compressor doesn't run with the engine off).
The only time I have had the suspension sink when parked is when I have opened the rear hatch after the engine is turned off. I don't know why.

It hasn't been a problem, since the suspension levels out once I start driving.
