Hey there folks,

I've been shopping around for a 100-Series to make my DD since moving out to the Midwest. I vastly underestimated the toll that winters take on vehicles out here, and have been having a hell of a time finding one that isn't about to disintegrate due to frame rust.

I found one in a neighboring state, and received these photos upon request. It doesn't look too horrible to my eyes, but I am having a hard time judging whether or not it may have just been painted over. Carfax shows that it was serviced exclusively through the same Lexus dealer over the course of its life, through 3 different owners. Selling price would likely be $11,000.

In this condition, is it worth serious consideration? Thanks!

100% painted over. Looks like they didn't bother knocking down any flaky rust either, probably just put it up on a lift and had a kid rattle can the whole undercarriage. Most of the exhaust looks replaced too with aftermarket which is common here because it's one of the first things that rusts out.

Man, I was afraid so. Really glad I posted here before taking any other steps.

Thank you!
