Searched and no joy..
Has anyone replaced their factory XM radio antenna? Either way, does someone know where the XM receiver is located ?

Thank you!
Sean

I believe I've read somewhere that the receiver is somewhere under the front passenger seat. Have you checked there?

I checked yesterday and it looks like i will need to pull the seat to get to anything under there. Hoping to get confirmation before pulling it......

So I looked. It appears the xm receiver maybe under there. If it is the xm antenna does not screw directly into it. It must have some sort of an adapter before it goes into the receiver. Anyone have an idea, photo or parts diagram?

Thank you!
Sean

Cool. I'm glad you found it. No clue on the diagram, though.

its not under the passenger seat, I'm almost 100 % on that.
There just isn't room. Toyota wouldn't mount it there in japan, and the port guys definitely don't want to take a seat out. I think it goes straight to the oem deck.
There just isn't any bracketing left over when you have the nave ecu, the amplifier, and the back up cam ecu all shoe horned in there.
they are port installed, so each entry center might do it differently.
- it's not in the fsm or the paper WD book. to be honest, I would have found it by now if there was a separate receiver.
It's always possible someone did something out of the ordinary once it was first sold though.

I pulled the carpet away a bit from under the passenger seat and I "think" I found the receiver. If I did it looks as if the antenna must connect to an adapter then connect to the xm receiver.

I just had a satellite receiver installed in my 2005. The local experts (Audiowerks) have done other
100s and they use an aftermarket receiver (SL3sat) that mounts behind the dash next to the OE radio, and interacts
with the OE radio. The antenna was mounted above the upper right corner of the windshield on the metal of the roof.
It works perfectly. My understanding is that although the OE radio is "satellite ready", the sat receiver was
a dealer installed option, which is no longer available.
