Hey folks - The time has come for me to part with my beloved 2006 UZJ100 Land Cruiser. I have owned it since 2010, and I have maintained it very well since that time. The mileage shows 204 K, but it is actually a bit higher than that due to the oversized tires I put on it about 20K miles ago. By my reckoning, it's probably short by about 2,000 miles (hence, the title lists it at 206K miles). I love this truck dearly, but my lifestyle at this point would be much better served by a Tundra. So, I am reluctantly either trading this cruiser for a Tundra or selling it outright. I would rather see it go to another Cruiserhead directly vs. trading it to a dealer, so here goes. It's 12-years-old and has 206 K miles on it, so it's not perfect. However, there is a lot to like about this truck.
It is located in West Lafayette, Indiana. I am asking $13,500 for it, but I am open to offers (it's hard to price these things so it's fair all around). Please see details below.
The good:
There have been no pets in this truck and it has never been smoked in. I just had the timing belt serviced, including new pulleys, and a new water pump. I also just had the drive belt and idler pulleys replaced. All Toyota parts installed by a Toyota tech and Bob Rohrman Toyota, Lafayette, IN. I rebuilt the front and rear driveshafts with Toyota spiders and bearings approximately 5K miles ago. I did a brake job with Toyota pads approximately 10 K miles ago. As part of this, I replaced all but one of the brake line hoses, including the ABS lines in the rear. I wasn't able to get the passenger side hose when I did the job. The rear wheel bearings were replaced by a Toyota tech about 10 K miles ago. The same goes for all of the stabilizer bushings, steering linkages, Slee control arms, and front CV shafts. This fixed play I had in the steering, and it is very nice and tight now (good to go for another 180K miles or so).
I replaced the factory auto-adjust hydraulic suspension with an Old Man EMU suspension approximately 25K miles ago. Not long after that, I added aftermarket alloy wheels and BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/As (an outstanding tire, and this is the fifth set I've owned on various trucks) KO2 LT305/65R18 (this is equivalent to a 33.5 inch diameter tire). The ride is certainly not as smooth as factory suspension plus factory tire size on the highway, but that's pretty much to be expected. I don't have a tread depth gauge on me, but I have included pics of all the tires with a quarter for scale. The spare is on a factory alloy rim and is a bit smaller than the other tires (but it's still bigger than factory). Along with the larger tires, I added Bushwacker factory-style fender flares that can be seen in many of the following pics.
I don't remember when I added the ARB Bull Bar, but it's solid with a few rubs and scratches (see pictures). Someone backed into the bull bar back in December 2017, hence the scratches and rubs. There is an ever so slight ding in the tubing associated with one of the scratches. There's some rubbing between the edge of the bull bar and the lower edge of the fender flares on both sides.
I added Slee rock sliders, skid plates, and a belly plate in spring 2017. I think you could run over a grenade with this thing at this point and still keep going!
The truck is reasonably clean overall. There are some upholstery scuffs in the rear compartment, and some stains here and there on the carpet. The PO was a banker's wife, and it was immaculate when I bought it in 2010. I immediately installed WeatherTech mats, and they have gone a long way towards keeping the carpet pretty decent. Included with the truck are the rear carpeted mat and the passenger side and rear seat OEM mats along with the WeatherTech mats as shown. No pets and no smoking in this truck. I could have certainly detailed it more before taking the pics. The brownish tint at the edge of the shadow and light is from the top portion of the windshield (for example, the console really doesn't have a brown stain across it!). I have replaced all interior lights with LEDs. The rear seat step plates are not it place in the photos, and it looks like there are holes in the carpet there. They will be in place for sale. I removed all the carpet a little while back to power wash it, and I just haven't reinstalled those step plates yet. The tailgate carpet is pretty darn dirty - it might get better with some TLC, but not from me. One of the license plate light lenses needs to be replaced. I bought a replacement steering wheel because the finish on the original is worn, and it bugs me! I haven't installed it yet, but it's included (and pictured below). It's an OEM steering wheel from a boneyard.
The not so good. The CD player has not worked since I bought it. Apparently a CD got stuck with the previous owner, and the PO pried it out and broke something in the process. Also, the rear DVD entertainment system stopped working a few years ago. The video screen works, but the actual player stopped working and I removed it. I imagine you could get a player from a boneyard or eBay that would PROBABLY work, but I can't guarantee that. As I mentioned with the bull bar, I had someone back into me with their Silverado pickup. It probably did about $3-4K of damage to the truck, but the bull bar kept the damage very minimal for this truck. I've already included pics of the scratches and scrapes on the bull bar. The fender got a little tweaked, too, and the paint cracked and there's a little surface rust there. The damage is pictured below. It's pretty minor in my opinion, but you can make your own decision about it.
There is surface rust on the underside of the truck, but there is no rot anywhere that I am aware of. I have run it through the car wash pretty frequently during the Indiana winters, so it could certainly be a lot worse. Like I said, it's all surface rust and no rot that I can see.
This truck is 12-years-old, so there are some other small scratches, dings, and paint chips here and there. What I consider to be the most notable of the scratches and dings are pictured below.
I think that's about it. Don't hesitate to ask questions or make offers. It's not easy pricing these things to make it fair to both sides!
Thanks for looking ... Reuben
