Hi all! This is my first post to this very informative and addictive forum. Following your threads I've been able to do a head gasket replacement to an 80 and take on any challenge my hundy would give me. I've owned an 80 series and now a 98 hundy and it's the first car that I never get tired of looking at, and I seem to look at in awe everytime 48cd58bd-51aa-4e5f-837c-c2d63fc1f4b8.webp

Untitled.webp. I bought it wrecked and rebuilt it. Now I have just plunged into my next project, a 2006 100 series that had an engine fire. I still haven't received it and evaluated it, but I'm getting ready for the worst.

In this year model, the 2006 LC received the vvt-i engine, which produced 275 hp. I was wondering if the short block and the cylinder heads were the same as the older models or that of the Tundra, 4 Runner, Sequoia. What makes the difference in horse power between these vvt-i engines? Short block, cylinder head or the accessories? Would it be ok if I dropped any of these vvt-i engines in? Breaking it down, if you were in my shoes, what would you do in rebuilding this 2006 LC?

There's something about the placement of the accessory items (alternator, etc.) on the other motors that's different than the LC. If I were in your shoes, I'd pass. Beyond the engine the wiring issues you'd be chasing would just suck.

I just figured I'd replace all engine wiring. And if the engine ecu was cooked, I'd replace it with another that came with a key so I wouldn't have any issues with it being coded.
