Did you use a grommet for the power wire through the firewall? If not, it needs one.

The twist on wire connector for the ground wires should be replaced with crimp or common ground post. Those connectors can vibrate loose and cause issues.

Thanks for the input. I didn't use grommet. Is it absolutely necessary?

Yeah I made sure to not use twist on connectors to avoid issues later. Everything is either crimped or soldered. I had twist on before to test it out.

A grommet is necessary. After some time, the positive wire will rub through and cause a short to ground.
 
Of course a real grommet would be better but if you REALLY don't want to pull out and repull the cable, caterpillar grommets may work if you can get them all the way around the hole and across every sharp edge. I don't know enough about the fire wall though to know if this will work.
 
Here are some more pics of my setup. Although I will do a test with the wiring under the passenger seat to see whether or not I really need the factory amp. I can't stand the static noise; I just adjusted the noise to a minimum for now.

I just got a grommet I'm gonna install it soon.
