My rear window will not go up or down, rear wiper doesn't work and rear defrost doesn't work. Have read elsewhere this is fairly common.

How hard is it to replace myself and what parts will I need?

Anybody done this?

Sounds to me like the harness at the rear door is unplugged maybe. Does the rear door lock with the master switch in the driver's door?

Some 2001 – 2006 model year Sequoia vehicles may experience a condition where
the back door power window of the vehicle is inoperative/stuck in the closed position.
The following procedure has been developed to address this condition.

I was wondering if anyone on mud has done this repair...

I have not heard of anyone doing this repair.....The parts list looks like it is on the first page of the pdf.

You've got the walkthrough with the pdf, but it still doesn't look like much fun.

If you do the installation yourself, it still may not work until the ecu that you replace is "initialized" referred to in step 18 and this TSB No. PD014-06 which I couldn't find.

I believe some Toyota dealership magic has to happen sometimes, depending on what is replaced.

This is super common. Does it work intermittently? Usually its caused by a dead spot in the motor from lack of exersise. If you do get it working once go up and down with it 50 or so times. Since I did that mine has been great. Check out tundra solutions .com too. They have lots of info on it. I think the fix can be as simple as removing the interior panel and giving the motor a good whack. I'd slam the hatch a few times and try that...

FIXED IT !!!

This weekend I removed the rear panel and steel cover which gives access to the motor and internals.

I then removed the metal stop per Toyota Service Bulletin.

Then I had my 6 yr old son push the rear window button while I tapped on the motor with the handle of my screwdriver and ...

WHALAH it worked !

I plan on using the window more often as I have read if it sits still for long periods this could result in it locking up. Just thought I would share in case others run into the same problem.

I understand Toyota charges around $600 to repair this same issue and replaces both the motor and ECU.

I found this thread while waiting for my Canadian 2005 sequoia to be diagnosed at Richmond toyota. Just for reference the Canadian technical services bulletin for the ecu+motor change and stop removal is TSB number 3412.

My window was stuck down due to rust in the ps sliding track. Toyota wasn't much help. I Pulled it out, cleaned it up zapped it with the wire wheel, some rust converter and tremcladded it. Greased them Up and it Works better than ever now.
