And it came to pass that my wife decided our Land Cruiser just isn't "nice enough" anymore. I'm sure many of you will suggest trading in the wife and not the Land Cruiser, but while I love them both, the wife wins out. And to be fair to her, she does "know what we've got" - and part of her argument is that we really don't use it to its full potential - it should spend more time in the woods and on trails and less time sitting in the driveway and cruising down the highway. I had intended to keep it for another 50-100k miles and have "invested" in it with that goal in mind.

Notable Maintenance:
  • Exhaust replaced with OEM factory exhaust at 165k miles, September 2018
  • OME suspension (303001, 60000, 60002, 2865 springs) at 166k miles, December 2018
  • 180,000 mile service completed at TorFab, including timing belt, water pump, thermostat, idler pulley, spark plugs, HEATER TEEs at 175k miles, August 2019
  • New set of five BFG KO2's 275/70R18 at 180k miles, November 2020 (spare has been included in tire rotation)
  • Air conditioning compressor and rear lines replaced, July 2021
  • Battery replaced January 2022 (X2Power Premium AGM 930CCA BCI Group 27F)
  • Brakes done at 188k miles, June 2021
  • Speakers re-foamed October 2022
  • Telescoping steering wheel new motor October 2022
  • 5000 mile oil change interval using Valvoline 5w30 synthetic and Mobile 1 M1-209A filter
Extras/Accessories Included:
  • Custom Gamiviti Roof Rack (moon roof cutout, additional gusset plates in front next to moon roof, grab rail below level of rack above doors, mesh in back half)
  • ASAP Flaps, rears installed, fronts included
  • BT45 installed (CONNECTED!)
  • OWL media mount (tape-deck RAM ball mount)
  • ScanGauge II
  • Fumoto oil drain valve (original plug included)
  • Two YOTAMD master Keys and one Valet key
  • Fancy Covercraft front window Sunscreen
  • Maintenance items: 12 gallons of Valvoline 5w30 oil and 3 Mobil 1 M1-209A oil filters
  • Cabin filter cover added, spare cabin air filter included
Notable issues:
  • It has the “header tick” on startup, it goes away within a minute, and it has been like this for the 64k miles I’ve owned the truck.
  • The upper tailgate does have the quintessential LC 100 rust unfortunately
  • The lower tailgate has a dent and a separate dime-sized paint chip.
  • There is a faded area of paint at the belt line on the rear passenger side door.
  • Typical front-end paint wear and leather condition for 190k miles
  • There are some scratches on the glovebox

This vehicle has not been a garage queen, but it hasn’t been used as a commuter either. I’ve averaged 8400 miles per year of my ownership. I predominantly use it for camping, road trips, and ham-radio support activities. I’ve maintained it with the intention of seeing 300k miles and I would not hesitate to drive it to Prudhoe Bay tomorrow. I would keep it, but I don’t have the space for an extra car, and it isn’t financially feasible either.
