2004 Nav. question?

I have a 2004 LC that I bought from a friend, 83K miles and in great shape. He had the entire navigations system replaced in 2009.
Everytime I start the LC the nav. system lets out a beep for about 3 seconds or longer. Is this normal? I have riden in many Land Cruisers of various years and have never noticed it in any vehicle except mine.

Nope, it's not normal. The system was more than likely replaced because of the TSB affecting 2004 model Toyotas with bad nav units. I repaired mine instead of shelling out the money to replace.

Does it otherwise work perfectly normal? I can look in my diag manual and see if the beeps are some error code reporting.

The NAV in my '04 beeps when it doesn't connect to a Bluetooth device. Definitely not 3 seconds long, though.

My 04 simply says "Bluetooth connection failed" on screen. Never heard a beep yet.

Got an '04. I get a beep from bluetooth failed to connect but no beeps from Nav.

My 04 beeps, I think for failed Bluetooth.

I use the Bluetooth feature. It beeps for Bluetooth Connection Successful too. But, not 3 seconds for that either.

I have a 2004 and when I had the unit out to install a VAIS XM radio unit and a USA Spec iPod unit I heard a long 3 second beep several times while I was messing with it. If I remember correctly it triggered when one of the components wasn't recognized. With the USA Spec and VAIS you have to piggyback the changer so you might look there. Does your disc changer work properly?

My brother had 2004. It beeped for bluetooth, but it was never for for 3secs. Get it checked.
