2004 LC, 170K fuel tank skid plate

My fuel tank skid plate is falling apart. Straps holding a tank are ok.

Should I replace a skid plate? OEM or aftermarket? If aftermarket - what are recommendations?

I do not take truck offroad, but do want to be able to if needed/wanted.

Don't worry about it, yo0u only need skid plates for serious off-roading. Mall crawlers and two trackers need not apply.
You will be fine for anything you do except the most hard core stuff.
And for that stuff you'll need a lift and tires and a winch and lots of friends in a off road club.
