I just totaled my Disco & the insurance company only gave me $6050 for it & it had 52k miles & was like new!! It was a 2002 model, but not that big of difference!!!!

Much like many newer Land Rover products, unless you plan on keeping it for a long time, it is not a product line you want to sink a bunch of money into adding accessories. Deserved or not Land Rover has a reputation for poor reliability and being very expensive to maintain.

Just curious, how did you come to this price? Most disco's can be had for a third of this price.

I did a fair amount of research on Auto trader & eBay. Most Discovery’s with this mileage are above the 15K mark. I’m open to offers, also welling to sell her w/out the lift. sell it for less without the lift/components.

That’s a very good price, most 2002 models are going for 4K. Really the 2004 was the best Discovery II model, came with the Center Diff Lock and better engine. Look on eBay you’ll see a good amount of 2003-2004 at above the 15k mark.

I agree with what you say to an extent, problem I believe is that most shops see a Land Rover and think that you’re an NBA player and can charge you what they want. Really it’s a very well built car, very easy to work on and 90% of the parts are bolt on plus its mostly aluminum so no rust. I will say, they don’t have the reputation a Toyota Nissan, or even a jeep has in terms of reliability. Mostly due to the range rovers. But I do see where your coming from.

Obviously you have invested considerable time and money in your vehicle and I wish you luck.
What kind of fuel economy are you averaging?

Thank you, not bad really right around 17-18 if you drive normal. I've driven a lot of Toyota V8 engines and by far Land Rover wins hands down. I'm talking throttle response. Also, 1st car/truck I've had that the K&N really makes a difference.

PS: your 70 looks amazing.

If its not already there you might want to consider listing your Discovery on
"Landroverexchange.com". There is probably a higher number of Rover guys there.
