Hello everyone,

I am a new member to this insightful and awesome forum. I've just recently purchased an 2003 LC100 and it is an awesome vehicle. Just last week, both of my catalytic converters were stolen off my LC100. It sucks!

Anyways, my insurance company will write me a check for little over $2000 to have both catalytic converters replaced at a local muffler shop. They'll replace it with some generic aftermarket catalytic converters which I am not too happy about. The insurance company said they won't pay for oem replacement parts.

I have a questions. Should I use the money to buy two bolt-on oem catalytic converters from Toyota or buy two bolt-on Magnaflow catalytic converters? The Magnaflows are a little bit cheaper but the oems should have the least amount of problem. I am planning to get the bolt-on replacements and changing it out myself.

I have tried searching the forum multiple times but couldn't get a direct answer to my question.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hopefully to deter future crackheads from ripping off my catalytic converters, I will bolt on Asfir skid plates to the LC100.

do you still have the flanges to bolt the OEM cats to?
usually when stolen the thiefs cut the pipes and take all the flanges
there can't be many recycling places on the island, police any help?

Yes the flanges are still there. The police just took a report over the phone and that is it. No wonder the thieves don't give a damn.

Man, what kind of s*** insurance company won't pay for OEM parts? I'd tell them you will accept nothing less than OEM since that is what you've paid to insure.
