Hey guys,

I am new here and am a new Cruiser head. I'm finally getting rid of my Tahoe and getting a real vehicle that I can rely on for years to come. I am having real trouble though. I have no idea whats a good price for what year and how many miles I should shoot to get on a used LC 100.

Heres what I'm after: A LC 100 year 2003-2007 with NO AHC for $25K or less an under 100,000 miles. From what I can tell a 2005 is my best bet. But I am so confused as to what I need to look for or be wary of.

I found a 2004 LC FJ100 with strange tire wear on the right side only. Concern?

Any help would be much appreciated. I really want to get my Cruiser soon, but am really conflicted as to whats a good deal and whats not.

Disclaimer: I searched big time all over ih8mud for a forum on buying guides that answered my question and couldn't find one with what I was looking for, so sorry if I missed something. Thank you guys in advance.

There is a newbie guide on slee manufacturing site that was very useful. I found the link in this forum but you can find it by looking around the slee site.

I'm a noob and can't speak to specifics of the rig yet. Generally I'd run away from any awd / 4wd rig with uneven tire wear.

For reference, I bought an 05 for 25k and 95,000 miles in March. Took me 3 months to find one and I ended up getting it via auction.

clean carfax. An older retired man bought it in 06 then sold it back to the dealership he got it from, at which point it was bought buy one of the managers of the dealership and now its being sold again. Texas Cruiser, so no rust.

Thoughts from you wise Cruiserheads??

I bought one a year ago in S. Texas that was owned by the Toyota dealership owner. Around 90K miles for $24.K. Call Richard Bakke in Prime Imports San Antonio at 1- 210-241-2286 or 210-3443669. I have bought a number of cars from him and have never been disappointed.

Yeah, it honestly looks like a 'good' deal. Unlikely there would be rust underneath. Paint looks excellent.

My 2004 is for sale in the vehicle classifieds section here on mud - full maintenance history, at 112k miles with the timing belt service performed at 103k... I am in Phoenix, AZ currently.
