Second, why was ARB ever mentioned or thought to be installed when the original poster never mentioned anything about it? Whoever threw ARB into the picture just confused this thread.
I'll take a guess here...Because in 2002 these trucks did not come with a factory rear locker. So, if he has a rear diff he either
A). had an axle swap with an earlier model 100 with a factory e-locker installed. not very common but plausible.
Or
B). a previous owner installed an aftermarket locker ARB being the most common. most likely scenario...
Or
C). no locker installed and switch was installed by some one but never hooked up anything else.
Options A&B take 30 seconds to look under the truck and see if there might be a locker there. If no e-locker actuator or air lines going to the diff..... then no locker. If he sees airlines or a actuator... we could try and help him troubleshoot the problem of why nothing happens when he flips the switch.
Not an unusual question or unusual for someone to suspect there to be an ARB... again, in 2002 factory e-lockers were no longer an option....
