So I figured what the heck some cruiser guys might want a fast Subaru.
Here's a little back story. Last summer my friend bought 2 wrecked 02 WRX's and a TS wagon. Then we swapped his TS using one of the WRX parts cars. While doing that I became very interested in Subarus. So later that fall I bought the other WRX off him and another TS...they just both happened to be green.
This is essentially a full blown WRX with TS clothes, which means low insurance rates
. I took the engine, trans, gas tank, complete rear subframe and suspension from the WRX and put it into the TS. The interior is from the WRX including the gauge cluster that reads about 113k. The rear seat back is still the stock TS seat back but the bottom is from a WRX.
Last winter I put in a new WRX radiator and new front brakes (rotors, pads and one caliper)
Upgrades are:
Utec Rev 6b with map selector switch
Hallman Pro MBC
TGV deletes
AEM short ram intake
Godspeed (?) silicon intake
Samco intercooler Y pipe
Turbo XS stealth back exhaust
Perrin catless up pipe
Ported stock cross over pipe
Tanabe DF210 springs
When the engine was out it was disassembled and new head gaskets, exaust gaskets, intake gaskets were used. Along with the replacement of the timing chain, water pump and a couple idlers.
Mileage:
Body has 150k or so
The engine has about 80k
Rear suspension and transmission have 112k
Its an awesome car, I've put 10K miles on it since I finished the swap last October. I've had no issues with it, runs great, pulls hard and gets me through the worst snow Vermont has to offer.
The bad, the body is a bit rough. The previous owner obviously wasnt the best driver, there are scuffs on the bumpers and some rust on the pass. side rear wheel arch, though it will be repaired by my friend who has a body shop. I also have a new drivers front fender and marker light to go on. Potentially the bumpers will be repainted, so it should look really nice. The power steering pump is finicky, some times the PS works great, other times it lacks. Also the rear pass side door opens kinda funny. You have to pull the handle really quick for it to open. When I was doing the swap something got stuck in the door and this has been a side effect of its removal. It really causes no issues.
I'm asking $6k obo but I'm looking to move it quickly so shoot me some offers. I'm looking to get an 06-07 donor car for my hill climb car. Also just changed the oil with Motul and a WIX filter 300 miles ago.
For those of you unfamiliar with a "stage 2" tuned WRX they're on about par with a stock STi power wise. Its definitely an awesome car.
