Got the non-nav conversion for a head unit. After install, All the controls work fine but the only lights that work are the buttons and the 2 displays (clock, A/C).

None of the lower bulbs on the board for background lights illuminate, nor does the hazard and CDL switch lights. Thus at night I can’t really see any of the buttons.

Ive bought a refurbished board and no luck. I have had a custom audio outfit check all the pins, also no success. I have been told it could be bad connection with the A/C amplifier but I don’t know how to correct that, seems like if they snap in, connection should be good. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have put a lot of time and money into this job and it’s driving me crazy. Thanks!

Because the display screen backlight is coming on, I suspect the problem is the bulbs themselves and not any of your connections.

There are several miniature incandescent lightbulbs on the A/C control board with green filters, see attached picture. They could have aged out and died, or the filaments broke if the assembly was dropped at some point.

One of the reasons I suspect that is I am having problems with the illumination on my hazard/DCL switches as well, and sometimes knocking on the panel will make them come on. The same thing was happening with the illumination on my shifter bezel, after replacing the lightbulb it worked perfectly.

I have all new OEM bulbs and a refurbished board so it’s not that, I sure wish it was!
