Please forgive me... I can't find my old buying thread and I maybe buying this evening. Can some of take a peak at the Jim Coleman Toyota Bethesda md website. There is a 2002 LC 105000 miles. Timing belt has not been done. Did all the pads and rear rotors. They replaced the front tires to pass inspection but they don't match. All the doodads should work. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated. Going to see it with check after 5pm. Will check back here before I pass the check

Due to the nature of the 4wd system, in my research, it is imperative that all four tires match up in tread. Different tires make for increased wear and tear on the diffs and other suspension components. Make sure to get under the vehicle and inspect BOTH the upper and lower CV boots on both sides. I only checked the lower boots on mine (because I have never had an upper fail on any rig ever) and turned out the upper on the passenger side was bad..

Will get the tires straight soon. The mechanic told me he replaced the cv boot bands but otherwise everything else was in top condition. I grilled them pretty hard and got a little bit off their price. It should be mine tomorrow.

mine dosent have the spoiler on the back, does it really make a difference? Really ... I dont think I am going to do anything to this beast for awhile. I have to get over the fact that I actually have it. It does need floor mats, and I may get a hitch mounted carrier for it and two tires and maybe the the gps upgrade dvd... and the back windows tinted some... and I think one of the cigarette lighter adpater things is missing...
One more thing... I feel a slight rumble in the passenger side front wheel... if it was worse I would think it was a bad bearing or tire... but the front tires are new. If I had really toothy tires I might thing it was the tread, but I only felt it on one side, so we will see and may take it in sunday so the dealer can look at it

are the keys really $200-400? The dealer told me that a key with remote is 400 and one without is 200.

Sounds right for a new key.

Depends on what you need. If you have the electronic guts for a three button remote, you can get a new OEM shell for around $30 from one of the mud supporting vendors. Or less expensive options and quality on eBay. If you need the shell and 3 button electronics, your least expensive option may be eBay for $2-300.

If you need a non-remote entry key or valet key, get a camery key. It is way less than the lc version. Look on eBay for what you need, then contact cdan, Bueno, or Lowe and price what you need.

Thanks for the tips on the key. The dealer has contacted the previous owner to see if he could scrounge up one. Are you saying that I can get a blank on ebay and then take it to the dealer to get it cut? Any thoughts on the spoiler?

I now know why no one is saying anything about the spoiler... and since I will actually be using my rack... I guess it shall be spoiler less...
On a different note... One thing the dealers mechanic told me was to not only get the oil changed regularly but to change oil the lubricants in the drive train on the maintenance schedule. My question is how hard it is it to do those changes myself?

I took HS Auto mechanics and did well... I can change brakes pads... rotors I can change oil, are the other fluids hard to get to on this truck? I will search
