The drain bolt tends to get stripped out, I don't think there is very much meat to the threads in the drain hole. I would use a new drain bolt every time, and be as gentle as you can when torquing it up. I'd use the minimum torque in the spec. Other than that, the job is dead simple.
Only a portion of the fluid is in the pan. Some people flush the whole thing, but that is a pain in the ass, I am just going to change what is in the pan for the next 3-4 oil changes. In my case that may be overkill, the fluid that came out looked brand-new. I bought a new screen strainer, but decided not to change it because the one already in was flawlessly clean. In other words, if your fluid looks good too, I wouldn't bother dropping the pan and changing the filter.
