2001 LC Amplifier Issues (1 Viewer)

I have a 2001 LC. The door speakers quit working. The tweeters still work however. The audio amp is under the passenger seat and is still all connected. I can't find a separate fuse for the amp (if there is one). Before I buy a new/used amp can anyone help with diagnosis and finding the secondary fuse (if it exists)? my amp is a 86280-OW060 C with 2 connectors.
From some wiring diagrams I see where it looks like the front tweeters use the amp. ??

Let me check my photos. I'll post if I have any. There is at least one fuse inside the amp. Standby...

The screwdriver points to the fuse. 10A. It's a surface mount device. Easy to fix. Some people freak out over SMD's but they aren't that hard to swap.

I used SMD soldering tweezers for removal and a small tipped iron for install. And sometimes a cuss word or two. You "could" jump it but it popped for a reason. Could be it was just an accidental short while it was on. That's what got mine.

PT. Number: SSQ 10 /5K
It's a 2410 size part (big) so easy enough to install. Desoldering tweezers or hot air make it easy to remove.
$0.49 each

If you don't have the right tool to remove it, and it's popped, just set the new one on top and solder each end. It's not the "right way" to do it but it is "a way" to do it

Good timing, I'm having a very similar issue in my '01 LX - just the driver's side mains are out though, mids and tweeters still ok. I doubt a blown fuse would cause only one side to go, but worth a look...

That's a good point. I focused on his fuse question. I had to replace the wiring harness when my left drivers side stopped working. I think I found it on Amazon. It was an easy job to change it out. Be mindful of where the retainers for the wiring harness are located on the door

If the tweeters work, then the amp channel works. Either the woofer driver is blown, or the wire going from B8 (for example) on the artistry above to the woofer has a break, or the actual connector has failed.

I actually removed the amp in my 2001 Landruiser and don't see any fuses on the board. I've attached pics.
Any other diagnostic suggestions. I don't want to buy a new amplifier if that is not the question.
Remember, my tweeters work but the main speakers (front and rear and right and left) don't work.

Have you checked for continuity between the main body harness and the speaker connectors with a voltmeter? I went chasing a left-channel issue and it turned out that both door subharnesses had broken wires. Easy enough to access the connectors in the footwell kick panels and behind the B pillar trim.

I just bought my 2001 LX470 in August with only the tweeters working, so this is a helpful thread. Time do dive in under the seats and pull that amp out for inspection! I will report back.

I will pull the door panels today.. While I have the amp cover off I'm trying to diagnose if I have signal coming in to all 4 speakers from the radio then I can better determine if the amp ( and forward to the speakers) is the issue. If I test the S7 Pins 5, 6, 13,14 what kind of voltage/ohm reading should I see with the radio playing. For a brief minute yesterday the FR speaker started working but I don't know what I touched to cause that. Also on the S6 plug I should see some voltage going out to the speakers if the amp is working - right?
