I ordered a set of shocks from Nalley Toyota Stonecrest back in Feb and just now getting around to replacing the rears. Drivers side went on fine, however the passenger rear got weird. The shock physically looks different, has a different rear eyelet/bushing and the top post is shorter, smaller diameter and missing the top bolt. The part number is 48531-69535, which my local dealer confirmed will fit a 2000 Land Cruiser. But I can't see how. Anyone have any suggestions?

I think they gave you an 80 series shock... but not for an NA spec 80 series. They continued production of the 80 series in 2000 in Venezuela... so maybe that is the confusion.

Correct. He has an 80 shock.

My guy sent you the wrong one.

Instead of starting a thread, calling the vendor generally does wonders.

Hmmmm. Local dealer said the rear shock has been changed multiple times and in fact it would fit a Japanese built 2000 Land Cruiser. Problem is now I have installed it. Not looking forward to reordering shock and crawling back under there and redoing the job. Unfortunate that 2 dealers sent and confirmed it would fit a 2000 Land Cruiser.

Dude, seems way to contrived leave passive aggressive BS with yourself at home.

My suggestion is, be forgiving when you receive the wrong stuff. Be harsh when it's not corrected in a timely manner.

Kudos if you made the wrong part fit.

Sounds to me like the vendor got defensive and expected that I should know that his dealership would have different information on a printed part number from another. I appreciate the vendor offering deals, but I got shipped the wrong part, called a 2nd, local dealer and got compounding bad information. Tough luck for me. Now I get to do it all over again.
