Have a 2000 Limited I purchased at an auction. Stating that as I don’t know the maintenance history(doesn’t look like there was much…). Transfer grinds trying to put it into 4hi, N, 4L. If you slam it will go, obviously not doing it again. 4wd light doesn’t come on at all on the dash.
Under the truck, when in 2wd, the front driveline doesn’t spin… my question is, is there a way to test the t-case actuator and the front differential actuator on the truck or do I need pull them? Also what’s the best way to test them? Any other thoughts while you read this would be appreciated!

The transfer grinds sitting still? Or moving? Tranny in park or neutral or in gear? You say that the front driveline will not spin in 2wd... tires in the ground or in the air?

Is the the 2WD/4WD T/C or the 2WD/AWD/4WD unit?

Mark...
