My wife is finally sick of it. The back doors must be disconnected from the lock/unlock button. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm thinking I just need to pull the door panels off and find the mechanism, but I'm not sure. Any ideas??

door acctuators probably shot. common problem

I have a 2001 excursion that does the same thing. Door actuators as stated above is best bet. VERY common.

OK, best place to source them?

Thanks for the tips, guys. I installed the new door lock actuators today in about 1.5 hours. $100 for parts, but we were quoted $400 to replace them from FORD. So I guess They get $200/hour. LOL!!! Worst thing about the whole deal was getting the actuators back on the brackets inside the door panel. Little tip.....unscrew the latch mechanism (T-27 heads) to help. Saved myself $300 and learned a bit about her Excursion, thanks to Mud and the info I found!!!
