I searched a bit but without any luck.
Can these power antenna's be converted over to a solid mast like my 96?
Anyone done this or have a link on how to do so with part numbers.

Mine just quit last month.

I'm sure you can fit some sort of regular antenna in there, but you will need to remove the inner fender liner and cram your head back there to get the old one out. You need to find another solid-mast Toyota (an older 4Runner) and compare the fender profile to see if the Toyota antenna will work. I'm sure there are generic antennas that may work, too.

Thanks!

Thanks for the link. Seems like a bit of work.. might have to think about fixing the power unit.. hmmm

I ended up buying a complete power antenna assembly. I was told after the repair that the antenna alone (no motor) could be purchased...would need to confirm that with CDan or Beno. That would have worked for me and been cheaper since the part that broke was the plastic part with teeth the motor uses to retract/extend the antenna.

To me the worst part was running the new antenna cable to the back of the head unit.
