Timing belt was reported to be done by PO. Sticker under hood showed it at around 129,000 miles.
Driver's seat well worn. Nice Kenwood stereo.
Duralast battery and probably an Autozone alternator.
He said the climate control wasn't working, although the air blew cold- apparently a common control issue that can be fixed by sending the climate control unit in- I don't know for sure.

That's a nice 4Runner. You should buy it; you have my approval. The 5VZ-FE is one of my favorite motors... very reliable and durable.

That is a good looking 4R! What would your plans be for it?

Thanks for the permission slip, Stylo! That really helps :)

I was looking at it as more of a long trip 4x4 that gets reasonably good gas mileage. My 60 is great but not the most comfortable and fast cruiser for 500+ mile one way trips to my favorite wheeling spot.

That was the last generation of 4Runners ( IMHO) that looked like it was destined for the "trails" and not the mall parking lot.:)

They're certainly rugged. The next generation got softer, in my opinion. I do love the new 4Runner Trail, though. It seems pretty capable.

That does seem to be a common problem. But the place I've seen online that repairs them charges an arm and a leg.

Mine works fine other than the fact you have have to push the buttons so hard it feels like you are gonna put you finger through the dash! I definatly agree that 3rd gens are the best 4runners.
