The 60/80/100 series all had fairly substantial mid model makeovers. I noticed no substantial changes in the US for the 2011 200 series, do you think it's mid model changes will hit 2012?

-All the previous models had a mid model engine change, do you think there will be a new engine?

-AHC?

-Body changes?

-Interior?

What changes do you speculate or want to see?

I know, I know, the 2011's just came out, this post is a year too soon....

.

I don't think we are going to see any powertrain or interior change to the Land Cruiser. 381hp and 6 speed tranny are already perfect IMO.

AHC is available on overseas Land Cruiser so it is possible.

One thing we might eventually see is a stripped down/mid level trim level, that is if the Sequoia gets cancelled which I believe is going to have to happen sooner or later.

I actually would not be surprised to see another engine option with the 4.6L 1UR V8 engine that the Japanese market LC200's get.

Just my conjecture.

I agree that it currently has a hard to beat engine, but historically the engine has always changed. However things may be different now because the engine is shared with the Sequoia and the Tundra. Toyota would have to modify all 3 vehicles. I can only think that with these times they may want an even better fuel sipper.

It could see the 4.6L 1UR V8 as Beno stated as an option. It's currently an option on the Tundra and Sequoia. It would bump the fuel economy a bit, I think from 18mph to 19mph hwy.

I'd guess we should be looking at the latest Prado in order to figure out what could/should be improved in the 200 series

Things like variable speed crawl system, improved KDSS, which is mow enhanced electronically, video spotting system or multi terrain monitor as they call it, the multi terrain response system, are all upgrades Toyota could use to make sure that the 200 series remains at the top of the Land Cruiser range.

most likely by late 2012 , just like the 2003 100 which came out late '02.

Its possible considering the new patrol just came out!

There 4.6 is already and option on Land Cruiser in Japan. There is no reason at all to offer it to US customers unless there is a stripped down model. The Land Cruiser is a $75k SUV, the 5.7 is the only way to go for the US.

However things may be different now because the engine is shared with the Sequoia and the Tundra.

The of the US Spec Land Cruiser has always been shared with the Tundra and Sequoia. The first gen Tundra/Seq used engines that were also shared with LC.

I bet they don't do much. The LX570 already has some of these features (cameras, etc.) I believe. Toyota/Lexus are trying to differentiate the LC from the LX for obvious reasons and including additional features on the LC will only narrow the gap. Fake wood trim, DVD NAV for LC and exotic wood, HDD NAV for LX are a couple of examples.
