2 C.V joints ?

:clap:has anyone ever used 2 C.V joints on there front drive shaft? im trying to beter my pinion angle, and i cant cut and turn, too poor.

I know some folks that tried 2 double cardan joints and had no success.. even made matters worse..... you can search in the 40 tech where a fellow member (badass) tried also with no avail.....

have you tried wedge shims???

Its super cheap! I think it cost me about... 10 bucks, a couple of cutting discs and a couple of welding rods? It really isn't hard either- not sure why people are intimidated by doing a C&T. Then it is done how it should be?

BTW shims to correct pinion angle will throw your steering off- and visa versa

what's wrong with the angle now? does it have a lift, sprung over?

could always go with a highangle driveshaft. not cheap either tho

i always thught it needed to be done a lathe . . .

If it's SOA, do yourself and your drivelines a favor and do the cut and turn.

Most important thing to get right is caster.

Second most important is pinion angle.

Cut and turn lets you do both perfectly.

Be careful if you did a shackle reversal, because the amount of turn can vary with the type of reversal.
 
You can use a double (carden) joint off the front of an FJ60. Remember, if you use a regular drive shaft with a standard u-joint at each end, the angles must match exactly so as the joints go thru their range of motion they "cancel" each other out in vibrations. If you use a double u-joint or carden joint, the end with the standard u-joint needs to have almost no angle (or bend) to it at all; the front yoke needs to point right in line with the drive shaft...hence the need to cut and turn your axle. 4 degress for caster angle, then whatever works for the pinion angle.
