How much more tippy do you guys think a 2" body lift would make my truck feel??

Considering doing a 2FE T in the truck

(diesel swap is down the line but I want to make sure I do that swap exactly how I like and not have to ever change anything)

The only way that will fit is with a 2" body lift

Just don't want to make a rig that is so tall it will flop over on the off camber sections of daniel.

If you did this, what tranny and transfer would you go with?

I don't think it'd make a significant difference, and if it does, take 2" out of the suspension. I'm generally against body lifts, so maybe a better option would be to lower the motor in the frame 2"?

Ultimately i'd love a H55 behind it, but don't know if that is in the cards right now.... a 2F block will bolt up to the a440 in the cruiser with the right flex plate/converter combo... and keep the 80 TC.

I think i'd risk hitting the oil pan on something that way... I generally don't like body lifts either.... I may just keep the 3FE with the T and some exhaust/head work.... keep that for a while and figure out my diesel swap. I think it will have to have a NV4500 behind whatever diesel I end up with.... just not a huge auto fan.

You could just do a H55/split case swap with your 3fe. Lots of FJ62 owners do just that and are extremely happy with the setup.

That'd give you the manual transmission we all want while preventing the need for a body lift.

I always thought an 80 would be badass with a H55...

most of the weight is at the frame or below. installing a 2" body lift will not make much of a difference to the weight distribution.
