Does anyone know what it would take to mate a Toyota V8 1UZFE engine to
a H55 5-speed tranny? Has it been done before? If so, was it a production
conversion or a custom setup? What sort of problems would there
be? Is the input end of the tranny shaft the right size for the 1UZFE pilot bearing.

How about bellhousing length and relative position? Would it be possible
with a production bellhousing to fab an adapter plate to fit between the
engine and the bellhousing or between the bellhousing and the transmission?

I've been able to find a lot of info on the 1UZFE, and a lot on the H55,
but almost nothing on the two of them together.

Much thanks for any help.

http://www.rodshop.com.au/

They ship internationally. Email them and give them your tranny code, transfer code, what you need... bellhousing, flywheel and universal engine mounts and where you live.

They're pretty prompt and it's an off the shelf item.

Bonus for you, the prices are in $AUD... 1 AUD = 0.71 USD atm. so you pay about 3/4's the marked price :p

Wow. I just talked to the Rodshop in AU, and they said it would be aprox 1500 for a
bellhousing and another 200 for a pair of motor mounts! I mean, even with the exchange
rate, that's more than I would pay for the entire engine. Has anybody ever
done this swap with a stock fitting bellhousing for the H55 and, say, an adapter
plate between the bellhousing and the block?

Make your own mounts, very easy and yes, in true cruiser fashion, over engineering is always good! haha Try Mal Wood Automotive or Dellows Adapters for your bellhousing. I used Castlemaine Rod Shop about 2 years back and it was a lot cheaper then. Mind you, the man who originally started the business sold it mid way throug last year and I've not dealt with them since. You'll find a manual flywheel fairly rare on the ground, try Yella Terra for a steel replacement.

Hi

What about 1uzfe ecu - AT integration........

I have a plan of mating 1UZFE with a440F........ Are there problems with engine when the ECU will not see its own tranny?
