OK boys and girls - looks like the first HAMOM is gonna be....drum roll please......me:beer:

I was lookindg to do this on 6-10-06 but it looks like it might be better for everyone if we do it 6-24-06. Plus that will give me a little more time to get parts.

We can have this at my place unless someone has a better wrenching spot with a little more room to move around. Either way, I'll provide some burgers, dogs, chips, beers and water.

If this date works for eveyone, let me know. We can possibly do on 6-17-06 but that is fathers day weekend and probably not a good weekend for many folks here.

So chime in which date is best, my vote goes to 6-24-06 and if you have a better venue around Raleigh to work at.

Also what other stuff would anybody like to see done other than a clutch. I'm open for other suggestions.

What parts do I need other than clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearings, alignment tool, and rear main seal? I'm also gonna get a new/resurfaced flywheel so we'll have it on hand instead of having to get the one in there resurfaced.

Any idea on where to get parts?

Post up and I'll get to ordering.

get your pilot bearing....also loan a pilot bearing puller from autozone....get some all purpose grease, plenty of rags, PB blaster, hammer/mullet, and I do not know how to call it but something like a little brass rod to tap in bearing and the rear main seal....some extra bolts to hold the pressure plate would not be a bad idea as they usually break easy..torque wrench to prevent breaking them...that is all I can think...are your clutch master and slave cylinder working properly???

I can be there for the morning probably. I have a wedding that afternoon. I did my clutch ('78 40) last summer. Should be no problem, but I had a lift at my disposal. With a few extra hands, it will be a cakewalk. I got my kit from JTO, but most everyone else has had problems with them. You running the stock driveline?

she's all stock. I got the clutch and pressure plate and throwout bearing, I just need everything else.

Juan - any idea what size bolts those are? You don't have an extra flywheel I can get turned to have on hand when we do this do you.

how about if we don't really know much about cuirsers but we just want to get to know other members.. if you had a little sports car I could be of some help.. not very experienced in the whole 4x4 scene... either way I'd swing bye for a little while bring some stuff for the members.. brews, chips, cake.. whatever works.. meet some of yall and let you work on your rig.. if you wanna supercharge your 40.. let me know.. I'll be of some help on that field..

I have an old 3 speed flywheel sitting around if you want it. It is out of my fj45.

k_os - this is not gonna striclty be a work session, more of a bs session and we'll put the clutch in somewhere during that time period. Come on by for sure.

It is a 3 speed and I'll see if I can get that flywheel out this in the next couple of weeks.

If I have to come down to Fayettenam, I might take you up on this.

If Darin is offering it... definetly get that one and have it resurfaced so that you are ready with everything needed for the job.

K_os Like Chad said, you do not need to know anything about cruisers it is about socializing and learning...we all can learn something from each other.

If you want to pay for it i can also get it surfaced for you for some mulla.

But do not forget it will be a little more because it has to be done twice.

Darin - I called and left you a message and sent you a pm

k_os: Well if Hubby and I have time to join this work crew we will. We both have turned wrenches on our cars (sports cars) and are also new to the 4x4 world. But we all know that some times just having an extra set of hands makes a world of difference.

Flounder: Have we set the date? 10th or 24th? 10th Hubby and I may be able to make it. We planned a while back to go to the BigDaddyOffRoad in High Point on the 24th.
