Hi All,

My vehicle has suffered a blown head gasket.

While having the engine out, I was exploring the option of rebuilding the lower end.

Has any anyone had much success with rebuild kits out now and would recommend them?

Looking at the toyota equivalent seems complicated as you have list every specific part you require.

That's my impressions so far.

Would like to hear if anyone else suceeeded in this path.

Hi All,

Further to my objective of rebuilding my engine, I was able to remove the fuel pump by driving out the device via the shaft.

I have now come to another hiccup after removing the timing cover.

I understand the idler gear needs to be locked by a M6 bolt before its removed, but I've not been able to fit the bolt into the rear gear of the idler gear assembly.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or have other suggestions?
