Hi All,

I've got a KZJ95R with a 1KZ-TE and blown head gasket.

I've removed the head and head up taking the engine out the vehicle

The car has 340k on the clock,

While the engine was out, I thought i'd dismantle and freshen it up with new lower end bearings etc.

Have pulled most things off except the fuel pump.

Have rotated the crankshaft a few times in myt activities.

Have tappdd the fuel pump shaft a few taps but no success in pushing through.

Ive heard of suggestions in making sure the engine is TDC, but now I only have the crankshaft and fuel pump sprocket markings to work with.

Has anyone experienced issuess in pushing out the fuel pump shaft through the timing assembling?

Thanks for your insights

Geez it's been a while since I did that job. I vaguely remember leaving the timing cog in place while I swapped the pump out. Then I just aligned the keyway of the new pump with the cog? Yes timing set at TDC. Careful not to lose the keyway!

Have a look on YouTube for "Dingel-DIY" . He covers this topic on the 1KZ in one of his videos.
