Hello people.

My 2000 troopy with the 1HZJ 78 motor after market turbo has decided it doesnt want to idle when it is hot. Its all good cool but drive for 15 mins and at the lights it just wants to stall. I note it is pretty bad when i put it into reverse and win the steering around.

I live in a pretty hot spot, (Darwin NT Australia) and at times have the ac on or off. This doesnt seem to affect it to badd

I have screwed the hand throttle up a little to keep her going but there must be something there.

Also anyone know the wire colours so I can wire in a trailer plug? Looking for what colour on the car harness means what

Regards

Chris

Hi Chris ,have you checked air and fuel filters?
Is the fast idle up for the aircon working?(the engine should speed up about 100rpm when you turn the aircon on)

I dont have a manual for the 78 series electrical but you could have a look at the wiring to the rear lights for all the colours.

I have the factory trailer plug bypassed ,most auto electricians cant be bothered with them for some reason.

Hi Rosco

Yeah re did air an fuel filters last week, but it was playing up before that. I have a clear line for my fuel return and there are no bubbles

It seems to idle up and down on aircon on and off

Yeah I was being lazy with the lights. I have to drop the main tank this weekend so while I am under there,,,,

Regards

Chris

Hi Tapage,

I think it more relates to fuel flow back, although I will be changing the oil next weekend, so thanks for that reminder.

I also notice it doesnt like to start when it is hot, which is a PITA

Keep those ideas coming

Chris
