For Sale 1HZ running but needs rebuild .

I am selling a 1HZ that I removed from a 92 HZJ70 with around 220k miles on,it still was running and driving but was smoking terrible and lost power and had a loud knock in it.

It is what it is I have not opened to see what the problem was and am not planning to.I can part it out or sell it complete if you want a core to start a fresh engine build.

Everything in the picture goes with it and I have more parts available for the 70 series diesel Cruisers

2500 $ strapped to a pallet and I can drop it of at Fastenal or do Mudship. (Fastenal does not ship to Cali)

Yes there is some kind of resin on it,not sure what or why.....maybe this is the problem why it smoked so bad and made the ratly noise ?

I bought the complete truck from a dealer and he had no idea what happened and I have not investigated it neither.

In this case i tried to show the condition in the pictures as the rest is unknown besides from the fact that it does run!

Looks like they tried to seal a rotor head leak.

This is a good deal. My bet is the motor it's self is probably fine, and the described issue is an injection pump issue. The epoxy on the pump points to it having had issues before. If for some reason the pump timing is too far advanced it would cause the described issues of loud knock, smoke and low power. I had my injection pump timing out by one tooth (advanced) on the timing belt before (by mistake) and it caused exactly the same issues.
