16400 RADIATOR ASSY
16400-17300 1 $528.96

this is what I have on my car .
it is a regular radiator for Toyota 78 .
the version for HDJ78 , might not fit on your car !!!
you still have the old front .
they have made a face lift in 2006 ( i think ) and changed some parts .

you will be happy with this radiator.
but fix the pump .....your engine will be even more glad ;)

bye Renago

A HDJ78 has the old front with coil suspension.

feedback: installed the HDJ78 radiator and car cools GREAT! Did fit perfect!
Bought a complete kit with new bottom plastic protection, new shroud, new bottom hose etc.
Didn't drive high passes, but on a 500meter full throttle uphill at 30Celcius ambient and AC full on the water stayed below 78Celcius, so that's good! I am pretty sure I had reached 90Celcius with the old radiator...

Hi Blade, Hi everyone. I own a 75 series troopy carrier that i installed a 1HDT engine in. I ordered another radiator and came across your forum when looking for a solution to the heating problem. I managed to source the larger radiator you installed from austrailia by luck through gumtree as i could not find it anywhere. My question is what fan shroud fits this radiator and do you have the part number as i am having no luck finding one. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks

It you have overheating on a HDT engine , you must find the source of it .
That engine doesn’t overheat , never ever !
No need to install a bigger radiator.
Pls check the thermostat, might be locked or you have bubbles in the cooling system .
Assuming the engine is sound ☝️

Looking back at your story , I see that you have a HZ1 + turbo , not a HDT engine .
There is a huge diffrence in this !
Hz1 + turbo are running close to their limit !
And only a good IP even better with a Dyno track can set it right .
Certainly not a big radiator.
Try to make 1/8 of turn on the fuel flow . Give a bit less fuel !
Then test and check if the situation improves . Make only 1 small steps at a time , registring why you do .
So you can back track to point zero .
