Hey folks! Need help theorizing as to what this might be. I had the exhaust replaced about three months ago and I’m now realizing it’s making the clicking noise in the video. Not all the time, just sometimes. To complicate things, it seems to be coming from lower down and not right by the exhaust manifold as I was expecting. But I don’t want to rule out an exhaust manifold issue.

Get a stethescope out and start listening it to from various locations on the block and I bet you will find its one cylinder in particular

No soot on ex manifold?

I've heard that sound before and if it gets worse as the engine heats up and the sound is in lower block not the head then its a bad con rod/piston wrist pin or something else associated with a single piston.

I’ll definitely pick up a stethoscope, good idea. I’m not seeing any soot. The sound seems more common when the engine is cold or warming up, and it’s coming from the lower block.

It sounds like a classic exhaust leak to me.
