Hi all my 1hz has just started making a faint knocking sound at idle, if you rev it goes away but as soon a the revs drop it comes back. I've changed injectors an glow plugs, to no avail. I have noticed though there is no oil pressure at idle but when you rev the car for a for seconds the oil pressure will go straight to half way but when you let the revs drop so will the gauge. Could this be a bad oil pump??

I would suggest hooking up a separate oil pressure gauge. The factory ones are poor at best and tend not to be accurate. That said it’s normal for oil pressure at idle to be quite a bit lower than at even 1500rpm.
They only need 5lbs at idle. The sign of a problem is when the oil pressure goes sky high on a cold start then drops away to nothing when its hot.
Whats the history of the engine, how many klms etc?
