So I had to do the clutch on my HJZ77, I went with an exedy clutch new release bearing, pilot bearing, pressure plate and had the flywheel machined. Put it all together and I think I hoy a bad release bearing, noisy when I shift gears wtf. Any ideas, maybe wrong step on the flywheel, tried adjusting clutch cylinder rod nothing. Or I'm just going to have to pull it apart again?

What kind of noise?
Does it shift gears smoothly apart from the noise?
How much step in the flywheel did your machinist leave?
What was wrong with the old clutch?

Yeah it shifts fine. The only noise is a howling sound when actually changing gears, as far as step on the flywheel I talked to him yesterday and he said he took ten thou off each side? The old one was slipping in 4th and 5th under heavy load.

In regards to the machining,it is supposed to have a measured step I think its 1mm or 1.5mm.
Maybe 10 thou gave the correct step
Its got me baffled, the likelyhood of getting a bad bearing seems remote.
It sounds like strip down.

Pretty sure it is a .5mm step for the HZJ-75/77.

IIRC Exedy's site has it in there somewhere:meh:

Over the years, I have had a bad pilot and noisy throw out bearings that were brand spanking new! A real pisser when you think you're all done and you have to pull it all apart again.

Not much option really, so might as well start.
