Hey everyone I appreciate any help or advice here. I am not a mechanic and I have also read a lot of the other threads on similar issues, but I’m trying to wrap my head around some of it.

I own a 92 80 series with the 1HDT engine. Yesterday when i got home from work and parked after about an hour of being home i let the dogs out and noticed what appeared to be an oil leak on ground underneath the turbo. I didn’t see anything on the underside of the vehicle and there has been another high mileage car sitting there as well the previous weeks. I started to do some investigating and when i opened the hood i noticed some seepage from the intake manifold gaskets(pictures attached) i was wondering if this was normal or if i needed to go ahead and replace the gaskets?

during my forum search i also came across a lot of the turbo seal threads because i was searching about the possible leak. The oil was low but i added some parked on a level surface and there has been no leaking since I added the oil. The spot where i parked yesterday was on a slope with the turbo side facing down hill. i took some pictures of the oil around The intake side of the turbo as well to see if anyone could give and feedback. I understand that is not necessarily uncommon but wanted to know if it was an excessive amount and if I should look into the turbo more intensely.

I’ve been running rotella t6 5w30 this winter as well if that helps at all. All pictures i took will be posted below.

Thanks in advance!

I have spotted some “wet” spots around the turbo as well. I cleaned it off and have been watching it. No dripping or accumulation on the ground or in my garage.

Replace the rubber intake manifold gaskets.
They are a common leak issue.

Remove the rubber intake hoses on the turbo. Clean them up and degrease so they are oil free. Clean the turbo so the surface the hoses clamp to are clean. Reinstall the hoses. An oily hose won't seal. A dry rubber hose clamped on a clean surface has a better chance of sealing.

Also, consider a catch can inline in the PCV hose, or bent the PCV to atmosphere, not back in to the intake
