Hey everyone,

I have no heat inside with heat on full blast and the lower radiator hose is not getting hot. I replaced radiator, hoses, thermostat and burped. The upper radiator hose and the in and out heater hoses going to the heater core are getting hot but I am not sure if the issues are related or separate. Why would my lower radiator hose not be getting hot with a new and tested thermostat after running for a while and any thoughts on why I would not have heat with in and out heater core hoses being hot? It is cold here in Colorado today but I ran it for long enough to get hot. All the best and happy thanksgiving.

Obviously the coolant system is checked and full ready to go.
Did you try driving, say up a decent hill, or at highway speeds. A diesel will cool right down at idle. These things need to work.
Also check that the firewall valve is opening/closing as you select heating or cooling. You can disconnect and try a manual valve selection.
Lastly ensure coolant is topped up.

Hey Squash, I did drive on the highway a while and had it inclined on jacks when topping off. The heater control valve is manually disconnected and I can wiggle my hand in and actually touch the heater core which is super hot just like hoses. I think it is the blend door so am taking the dash apart after lunch. Will let you know and thanks for the advice.

I figured it out. It is an import from Central America and the previous owner not wanting ANY heat to mix with cold air had screwed the blend door closed. Do not ask, I have no answers as to why that was their remedy. Anyways, reconnected the ac module and connected the battery and wouldn't you know it...works fine, opens and closes no issues. Heat resolved and all put back together.
