1HDT BEB Bearing Size

Hello all. Many thanks for all the 1HDT threads, they have been very helpful.

Question on BEB sizes for a 1HDT - I'm just outside of the 0.0021" FSM spec at about 0.0025" per the plastigage on the current bearing shells. Shells look good/decent and journals look great.

ACL makes a 0.025 mm (0.001") undersize bearing kit. Should I use this size or use the STD shell size?

Once I get chance, I'll post up pics of the shells and other info for the group.

Maybe best to measure parts properly and calculate the clearance if your on a close cross over area.

Thanks, yes that's the approach I'm taking.

What has me slightly confused is the STD and Undersize FSM specs (below).

If I put the 0.025 mm shells back in I should be around 0.0022", which is right in the middle of the Undersize spec. The 0.25 mm shells would put me more or less in the middle of the STD clearance range.

Perhaps I'm overthinking this?
