1HDT ANERIOD PIN STUCK

Pulled the top off my pump today to take some preload out of the spring. When I pulled my aneriod pin up i realized that it contacts the intake manifold not allowing me to remove the pin from the pump. Has anyone else experienced this?

Another issues im now having is I cannot fully seat my aneriod pin as the following pin inside the pump is in the out position and contacting the aneriod. I do not see any other way to reset the pin without pulling the aneriod out.

I have pulled the 17mm nut off the side of the pump to access the spring that loads the following pin but am unable to get any tool in there to pull the pin backwards.

There should be an Hex nut/Allen key at the front towards the rad.
Unscrew this, and carefully grab the spring and follower pin.
Replace the fuel pin, then the follower and spring.
This is from memory....
PS The pin is spring loaded, as such it sticks out(in) in order to follow your fuel pins profile.
1995 1HD-FT you is basically the same but without that crap in front.

You could try a magnet to pull the follower pin out of the way of the aneroid rod.

If you loosen the bolts that hold the pump in place you can rotate the pump away from the manifold enough to get the android rod out.
Just be sure to carefully scribe a line across the timing case/fuel pump housing so you can return the pump to its existing position. A utility knife or similar is a good option to mark a fine line across the junction.

Update: was able to remove the diaphragm from the pin and then take the two out separately. Reset the follower pin and re-assembled. 1 extra step I suppose but at least now I can service my pump. Thanks dudes
