1HD-T head removal - which gasket kit? (1 Viewer)

I have to replace the head gasket on my 1HD-T. Aside from getting a head gasket, which kit do I need to get that contains all the necessary gaskets to complete the job. Do I need to get the “Engine Valve Grind Gasket Kit” part # 0411217020, or “Engine Overhaul Gasket Kit” part # 0411117020?

The engine valve grind kit is a complete gasket kit.
It will have things like valve stem seals that won't be in the overhaul kit.

I believe neither kit will have a head gasket in it.
You need to order the head gasket to suit your engine.

i would go for the overhaul kit, youll get gaskets and seals that you dont need now but may need later. the valve grind kit will pretty much just service the head, overhaul kit will include the grind kit plus extra seals and gaskets

Thanks mudgud, I was assuming the valve grind kit would do the job but needed confirmation before purchasing. Yep, will need to grab a head gasket whilst ordering.

What is the SST for removing the head bolts? Is it just a 12 point socket?
