This has been on CL in my area for far too long, so someone needs to pick this up. I actually weighed this as an option rather than rebuilding my 1HZ and adding a turbo since I could just swap it out...Someone else needs to buy this so I don't have to think about it anymore!

Engines sitting in the dirt out in a yard cannot be a good sign...

I figure that since it's stateside already, even if it needs some TLC, that's a great price. Happy to go check it out for anyone since it's local.

Agreed about sitting n the dirt. If I have that kind of coin in something it won't be sitting in the dirt. I wouldnt say its a steal. Maybe if you had compression numbers, oil analysis and saw it running...then it would be a deal not a steal. But regardless if it were local to me I would definitely go check it out.

I talked to the poster, he states it has approx. 150k miles on it. Didn't offer any other info. Bought it from the UK, says he has bought several motors from him with no issues. Would look nice in my HJ-45 troopy. I am a bit undecided about sending him a check.??

Thoughts

I'd try and get someone local to check it out. I came real close to wiring money for a 1HZ that another MUD member bought and it ended up being garbage. Paying a little extra to buy from someone with a known reputation is well worth it.

Howdy Fellers. This is my engine posting, and I have it up on ebay now too- 100% feedback there (For other similarly-priced turbo engine kits and turbo-diesel Rover conversions - all to happy long-distance customers) and I do offer a money-back guarantee if after you buy this it is not as advertised. I had the guy who pulled the engine for me take pictures of it so I could list it if need be while it was being shipped, and yes, he sat it down on his gravel floor to take the pictures. It is on a pallet though, and was personally tested out and ran by him before pulling the entire conversion kit for me. It is now clean and wrapped up on a pallet, and is not being 'stored in the dirt'.

If you have any other questions about this let me know - zombiemotors@earthlink.net
