Hello All,
This is my first post, I hope I am doing this correctly. The story:
I have a 1HD-FTE, 1999, 100 series landcruiser A/T. This vehicle has been with me for 18 years and 640,000kms. I have done a lot of maintenance over the years, namely a reman'd injector pump (65,000 kms ago) and a new set of injectors (last week, Oct 2024)
My question is. I have recently replaced my injectors (link to the job), The vehicle goes very well, has more power and uses less fuel. All brilliant... however, when I start the engine from cold, it has a idle stumble, that settles out after a minute, I can then drive the car for many miles, stop and it idles smoothly. If I restart the engine after a minute, the stumble comes back but smooths out after a minute. This has only started since the injectors have been changed
My replacement injectors are rebuilt with genuine densco nozzles and set to crack at 2800psi first and 5400 - 5600psi secondary. The old injectors (see the youtube link) where badly leaking, not holding pressure and cracking at around 1800psi, a full 1000psi under spec.
I think this has something to do with the Engine Control Module (under the hood) or main ECU. A diesel specialist said the ECU and ECM may take some time to recalibrate.
The injector pump is a Denso ECDV4.
here is a link of the towing test and observation I just did.
I am considering doing a quick video about this issue, as it might be easier to explain rather that typing all this mess.
Any ideas or help much appreciated.
