Good day fellows.
Greetings from Brazil.
So ... I was wondering if it's possible to match the 1HD-FT (24valve) head onto the 1HZ block (changing pistons and such). My question it's because, those engines are extremely rare here in Brazil, and we have an issue with the traffic department so the block needs to registered into the vehicle. So I have this friend that has an 1HZ block with the register, but no head. I know that the 1HD-T (12valve) is swappable, what about the 1HD-FT (24valve), does anyone have any idea? Thank you all.

Yes it is, BUT you need to change conrods, pistons, fuel injection pump, timing case, inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, injectors.
About all you'll be retaining would be block, crank, and sump.
You almost need a complete running 1HD-FT donor engine. to buy all the parts needed individually would cost a fortune.
1HD-FT were only in production for a couple of years, they are kind of rare in Australia, and set for stupidly high prices over here.

Using a 1HD-T head etc would be a little easier, and it will get you virtually the same outcome

So they are rare over there too...I'm screwed. hahahah
Thanks for the info, I'll see what will be better for my project. Here in Brazil we have a very reliable engine called MWM 6.07. It's a 4.2L Turbo Diesel 18 valves 180Hp and 570Nm of Torque, produced by MWM Corporation, however, it needs a more complex plan to adapt on the LC.
Thank you again.

They are not super rare, but people see them as better than a 1HD-T, and pay ridiculously too much, and they are only a relatively minor upgrade on a 1HD-T.
It's almost cheaper to use a 1HD-FTE.

the 1hd-fte engine is the same as 1hd-ft the only diffrents is the electrics fuel system. there are someone here in aus that converts the 1hd-fte back to 1hd-ft soHDJ100 station wagons has 202 hp (151 kW) at 3400 rpm with 317.1 lb·ft (430 N·m) of torque at 1200-3200 rpm if you coul

you may be better getting a 1hd-fte and pulling the parts of that and get the fuel system to mach.

but its not worth the effort of your not after masive power. the 24v only beats the 12v in breathing and this only come in afect when pusing high
boost in.
