Hi Guys
I am at my whits end here trying to figure this out. Have searched numerous threads with no word of this.
Trying to keep this short. Sounds like cam chain is going off its head slapping around at idle and up to around 1000~1100rpm. This ONLY happens when the vehicle is at full running temp (Not coolant temp, I mean when the oil and all metal components are at temp after around 10-15mins of driving) Factory oil gauge reads well and increases as it should with revs.
Coincidence or not this started suddenly right after an oil/filter change
K&N HP-3001 20/50w oil, have run both forever at 3000mi intervals.
Changed oil and filter straight away, Have shimmed both the relief valve springs with no change. Too scared to take out the tensioner incase something falls into the timing cover, will it come out or does it have some sort of clip to the slider?
Please help I can't handle driving around with the idle set at 1200rpm anymore! and I am going to buy a mechanical pressure guage today.
