Hey guys, I've been trying to find the factory amp so I can replace it in my 1999 Toyota Land cruiser. I've looked under the glove box and up inside that area with no luck. Can anyone give me some tips?

Thank you!

Also: Will I be able to just pull it out and replace with a 4 chan aftermarket amp? Is there anything special i need like adapters? Thanks

For a 100 series you might post over in the 100 series board. I am not familiar with how the factory Amp layout is in a 100 but in the 80 and 3rd Gen 4Runners if you pull the factory Amp you use the aftermarket adapters to make the connections.

look under the passenger seat

you can just pull it out and replace with an aftermarket 4 channel amp, but then your subwoofer will not work. (you would need a fifth channel to power the sub).

the connections are all pretty standard- you can either splice the wires according to colors, or you can buy an adapter kit from somewhere like Crutchfield.

Hint: Use the search function....... type "100 aftermarket amp" into the google custom search box at the top of this page, and see if that gets you the information you want.
