1999 High Rpms jump at start up?

My 1999 Lc with 197,000 seems like the rpms are jumping up higher than normal at start up and when I stop and go the engine sounds louder than normal. I thought it might of been bad gas but I put Lucas and 93 oct and i seems still louder than normal.. anyone? Thanks

I have not experienced that in my LC just got it….

But, my 98 Tacoma had an erratic RPM on start up (around 1500 RPM) and even it after warmed up it would still idle at that RPM for some reason. Finally I un hooked the battery and over time the problem worked its self out. This was all caused by quickie leaving the air box un sealed and out of alignment.

The 02 Tacoma would do the same when it was cold, idle at around 1500 then subside after the engine was warmed up, same with the G35…. Hope this helps…

Define higher than normal. Like roughly what RPM? Have you done anything recently ( new battery, air filter, clean TB, etc?)

It's weird it seems to have a lot of engine noise starting from a complete stop, and levels out as the truck speeds up.the truck runs fine so far
